Samuel Storrow was born to James Jackson Storrow and Annie Maria Perry. He grew up in the Boston area and graduated from Harvard University. He then earned a Civil Engineering Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He moved across the country to Washington State to work for Union Pacific Railroad to build a large bridge over the Columbia River. Designing and building bridges was thereafter the focus of his career. In 1894, he married Cora Larelle Allen at Yakima, Washington and they had a daughter, Elizabeth. They moved to Los Angeles, California before 1900, where Cora died in 1909. In 1910, Samuel married Letha Lewis at Los Angeles, California. They did not have any children. California, County Birth and Death Records, 1800-1994 records that Samuel died at Pasadena, Los Angeles, California and is buried at Mountain View Cemetery.
