Ida had twin boys, Albert Scott 1895-1918 and Talbert Scott 1895-1971 from her previous marriage to ________ Scott. John Frederick & Ida May Bumpus had eight children; Charles Warner "Charlie" Bumpus 1899-1980, married Kathern I. "Katie" Arquilla 1912-2007; Salathiel 1900-1994, 1st married Mary Katheryn Fowls 1906-1978, 2nd married Martha Fontana [Olvey] Mills 1902-1995; John Frederick Jr. Bumpus 1901-1970, married Margaret Forest Jones 1915-2001; Olive Del Bumpus 1903-1927, married Dwight Harris and died at the age of 24 years; Mary Malinda Bumpus 1905-1997, 1st married George Leo Wright 1902-1970, 2nd married Lawrence Berwick Westermann 1900-1984; William Stevenson "Bill" Bumpus 1905-1990, married Goldie M. Atkinson 1905-1995; Floyd F. Bumpus 1916-2003, married Betty A. "Mrs. Ida Bumpus Dies Suddenly - Mrs. Ida Bumpus, aged 56, wife of John Bumpus, died suddenly Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. in her home at 618 West Gambier street of a heart attack. Mrs. Bumpus had been ill for several months and recently had undergone a goiter operation, but was believed to be on the road to recovery. She was a member of the Vine Street Church of Christ, the Order of Rebecca of the Pocahontas Lodge, the War Mothers' club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Besides her husband, Mrs. Bumpus, who was born and reared in Liberty township, is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith of Newark; eight children, Irene and Floyd Bumpus, at home, Charles, Salathiel, William Bumpus and Talbert Scott of this city, Mrs. Leo Wright of Texas, and Fred Bumpus of Hoovan, Ohio. Two children, Mrs. Olive Bumpus Harris and Albert Scott, preceded her in death. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Delbert Smith of Painwell, Mich., and William Smith of Columbus and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Newhausen of Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Stanley Smith of Bedford, Ohio.
