I do not consider family trees to be a proper source, records are sources.

Currently working on going thru county death records (1880-1904) adding those that are not accounted for and revising those without much info. If you find a memorial with "unknown" in the plot field this is the reason. Their death record states burial in Mason City (Elmwood and St. Joseph Cemetery were the only ones active during that time period) but they are not in the cemetery records, there are quite a few burials who do not have a name attached to the plot.

I have completely photographed Elmwood-Saint Joseph Cemetery in Mason City, IA and finished in 2011. Still working on identifying the unreadable markers and re-walking the cemetery to add GPS. All the photos that I have taken at Elmwood in Mason City are also on file with the cemetery office. If you are unsure of the photos I have placed, please check to see if there are any notes by clicking on the photo.
The 13% un-photographed at Elmwood is largely due to all the unmarked graves, which I am also working on getting photos of the specific lots.

Use of any photos I have taken is fine for PERSONAL genealogy use, including your trees you may have on Ancestry.com and other research websites, please just give credit. I took the pictures to make sure the information was out there! Thanks! CK

Preserving history, yours and mine, one stone at a time. I do this out of respect for those that have gone before us, so that they are remembered and any and every stone in the cemetery be preserved digitally forever.

Personal family lines that I am researching include (but not limited to): Clark-Shunkwiler, Borel, Goslin, Beisel, Lease, Peschl, Wise and Hill.

~~Double check all dates that you find in the online database for Elmwood Saint Joseph Cemetery. There are many that say December 31st, and I think it was auto populated if only the year was available.
