Bio
Son of William Duncan Copeland (1897-1984) and Mary Evelyn (Stannard) Copeland (1900-1990). Grandson of Jesse Milton Copeland (1855-1940) and Eliza Stewart (McArthur) Copeland (1862-1943) and of Clare Nowlen Stannard (1869-1934) and Josephine Kellogg (Thompson) Stannard (1870-1933).
Born in Lincoln, Illinois (only non-native Coloradan of immediate family), raised in Montana, higher education in Minnesota and Colorado, worked in Minnesota; Kansas; Beirut, Lebanon; and Colorado. Have lived along the Front Range of Colorado for the past 40 years plus five years at an earlier time.
Retired public and academic librarian. Interests include: hiking, running, photography, reading, travel and, more recently, genealogy. I was long ago designated the family 'historian' and given all the family documents, diaries, photos, etc. As the only surviving member of my immediate family, I decided it was time to get to it. Worked on genealogy on ancestry.com, made a DVD of family photos, and 'published' a 108 page photo record of family history via ancestry.com and mycanvas.com for my son, grandkids, nieces and nephews.
Transfer requests from interested relatives of memorials I've established are encouraged.
