This cemetery was established in the early 1900s. The land owner, Mr. LaClair, donated the parcel to the Catholic church to use as a cemetery. It was in use until about 1934. In 1944 a new cemetery was created and the remains of at least seven people were moved from this cemetery to the new one. This old cemetery was then forgotten. In 1994 local parish members using heavy equipment removed approximately two feet of topsoil to reveal remaining headstones. The cemetery was completely uncovered and cleaned up and is maintained by St. Cecilia's parish in Nanton, Alberta.
