Add PhotosThe first (oldest) cemetery was attached to the south side of the church and went covered the ground to the canonical house. It was closed in 1790.
The second cemetery was located on the other side of the Rue Saint Jacques and it was the largest of the 3 cemeteries. It was closed in 1614, when the Royal College (now the College of France) was built. The western part of the square Marcellin Berthelot covers it's location.
The third cemetery is now covered by the middle part of the south side of the College of France. The grave diggers house was also located in this section of cemetery. He dug a pit that held 180 bodies, which remained open for more than a year. This cemetery was closed and abolished between 1790-1792.
The bones found in the mass grave were move to the Catacombs in February of 1813. Probably all bones that were found during construction covering all three cemeteries were move there.
All that remains today is a concrete sign that was pieced back together, that has been moved to the Catacombs. There is also a street
