Amolee was a long time family friend she and my mother were friends for more than 60 years. Amolee was 83 when she passed away she was a beloved mother,wife,grandmother great-grandmother, sister,friend. her first husband was Vester Lee House they had 3 kids Mary Ann born in 1944,David born in 1947 and Janetta born in 1952. in January 1963 Amolee's husband Vester Lee House was killed in a tragic car accident. later in 1963 Amolee and my mother began attending church in Pioneer Assembly Of God in Pioneer,Louisiana Amolee later became church secretary. she was also employed at the West Carroll Health Unit in Oak Grove,La.until her retirement in 1989, in 1971 Amolee remarried, her 2nd husband was Eugene Hale.ironically Amolee and both of her daughters married Hales the men all distant relatives. Amolee remained faithful to her church in Pioneer,Louisiana. she lived 5 miles from her church, she and my mother sometimes traveled to Arkansas together to visit relatives her sister lived near relatives of ours up in Arkansas. mom and Amolee even shared a granddaughter Mellisa House Nevels born in 1969 to Amolee's son David and my sister Vicki who divorced after a brief marriage . in 1985 tragedy struck when Amolee's only son David Earl House died suddenly at 38 of a heart attack. in recent years Amolee's health began to fail her mind was failing she became forgetful, on mother's day 2007 I gave Amolee a ride to church when she misplaced her car keys. a couple of months later she suffered a devastating stroke she and husband Eugene went into the nursing home together Eugene died in January 8,2008. 7 months later Amolee died. in addition to her son and husbands she was preceded in death by her parents Amon Sumners and Berthia Aaron Sumners [Henderson] she was survived by 2 daughters Mary Ann House Hale and her husband Larry Hale of Epps,Louisiana. Janetta House Hale and her husband David Hale of Monroe,Louisiana.1 step-son Louis James Hale of Springhill,Louisiana. 2 step-daughters Gloria H Stephens of Taylor,Arkansas and Sylivia H Lindsey of Springhill,Louisiana. sister Dee Chadwick of Starr,Arkansas.2 brothers Morris Henderson of Ann Arbor,Michigan and Rev.Omer Henderson of Akron,Ohio. 9 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.funeral was 2pm Sunday Aug 10th 2008 at Amolee's church Pioneer Assembly Of God. her grandsons were the pallbearers. she was buried next to her husband Eugene Hale in Epps Cemetery.
