Born in Hancock County, he lived in Macon most of his life and was a World War II Navy veteran.He served aboard the USS Casablanca,USS Wyoming,USS Oregon City,USS Chandeleur. He was awarded the Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal. He was a retired automotive supervisor for Macon Kraft and was a Methodist. A couple of his favorite activities were working in the yard and garden and enjoying a day of fishing on Lake Sinclair.
