Margaret Alice (HARDISTY) (EDINGTON) ASHCRAFT, daughter of Thomas and NANCY Ann (CHENEY) HARDISTY, was born September 20, 1800 in Maryland and died August 26, 1890 in Jackson Township, Greene County, Indiana. Margaret was married first to Robert EDINGTON; second to Elijah ASHCRAFT, the widower of Elizabeth Hardisty Ashcraft (Margaret's sister).

Margaret Hardisty married 1st Robert Edington on April 13, 1815 in Coshocton Co., OH. Robert Edington was born 1796 in Huntington Co., PA and died April 5, 1844 in Coshocton Co., OH. It is said he died of Milk fever after a return trip from Greene Co., IN where he assisted in building homes for his father-in-law, Thomas Hardisty, and probably some of his married sons in which to get his family and bring them to their new home in Indiana.
