Sylvia Marie Bergan was born on May 20, 1923 in rural Alvarado, MN, the daughter of Elling and Mary (Nordstrom) Bergan. She was raised in the Alvarado area where she attended school. On March 1, 1944, she married Hamlin "Hamie" Nordlund. They made their home in rural Alvarado. Hamlin died on June 24, 1967. Sylvia worked at Kmart from 1967 - 1973. Sylvia married Marion "Buck" Scott on July 14, 1973 and they made their home in Grand Forks. Marion died in April of 1989. Sylvia worked at AmericInn Hotel from 1998 until she retired in 2012.
She was a former member of Elim Lutheran Church and a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Sylvia loved to paint and do crafts. She enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends and going to the Grand Forks Senior Center and the Love Feast at Zion United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Hamlin and Marion; son-in-law, Gordy Jenkins; sister, Bernice Cook and brother, Milford Bergan.
