Death claimed George C. Utter, 49, of 89 Bertels Street, yesterday morning at 10 at Sunny Acres Convalescent Home, Weatherly, following an extended illness.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre December 4, 1906, a son of the late Cyrus W. and Bessie Chesley Utter and attended local public schools. Mr. Utter mas a member of First Church of Christ, Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are four brothers, William and Robert Utter, Wilkes-Barre; John Utter, Detroit, Mich.; and Norman Utter, Baltimore, sisters, Mrs. Robert Hannis, Mrs. Bessie Thomas, wife of Captain David R. Thomas of Wilkes-Barre Fire Department; Mrs. Joseph Mikula, Mrs. Harry Phillips, and Mrs. Stanley Sidonis, all of Wilkes-Barre, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held from Kniffen Funeral Home, 465 South Main Street, Thursday afternoon at 3. Rev. Dale D. Heffelfinger will officiate, and interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call 7 to 10.
