Grygla, Minnesota - Bonnie Cwikla, 45, died on Sunday, October 21, 200l at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2001, at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla with Rev. Paul Knutson officiating. Kim Cleven will be the organist, and special music will be presented by Al Walseth, Jody Kirkeide and Stephanie Olson. Bonnie Bengtston will be the guest speaker. Casketbearers will be Brian Stanley, Todd Stanley, Jim Carriere, Wes Sandsmark, Wayne Thomas, and Ron Kotrba. Honorary casketbearers will include family members, friends, and Bonnie's cancer support team. Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery in Valley Township of Marshall County, MN.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2001, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Bonnie Rae Sistad was born on June 2, 1956 at Roseau, MN, the daughter of Stewart and Lottie (Leskiw) Sistad. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla and graduated from Newfolden High School in 1974.

On September 28, 1974, Bonnie was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Cwikla at Grygla. The couple lived in Newfolden for a year and then Grygla until moving to the farm in 1988 where they had since resided. Bonnie worked at various jobs with places of employment including the Grygla Cafe, Thief River Golf Club, Arctic Cat, American State Bank, Grygla School, Pine to Prairie, Grygla Hartz Store, Grygla Forestry and May Corp. At the time of her death, she was employed as an Avon representative, was the Veldt Township Clerk and did daycare in her home.

Bonnie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

She enjoyed playing piano, baking, cooking, flower gardening, going to rummage sales, going for rides in the country, decorating her home for the holidays, collecting angels and taking care of children, her family, friends, and pets.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Bob; two sons, Ryan (special friend, Darcie) of Salol and Adam of Grygla; foreign exchange children, Daniel Pardo and Ricky Valero, both of Argentina; two grandchildren; her mother, Lottie Sistad; two sisters, Connie (Rick) Beito of Middle River and Susan (Rick) Olson of Grygla; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her father and grandparents.
