Mr. John Lee, Pioneer Citizen, Passes
Mr. John Sellers Lee, for many years a prominent citizen of Alma and Bacon County Georgia, died at his home Monday afternoon, Sept. 25, 1933 at one o’clock. He was sick only a few hours.
Mr. Lee has long played a prominent part in public affairs. He was a candidate for Ordinary in the last County race. Mr. Lee was born 1870.
Mr. Lee was predeceased by his father James Madison Lee (this is correction a relative wanted make concerning the original obituary that they placed in the newspaper) and his mother, Mariah (Johnson) Lee, and a daughter; Grace Lee Craven.
Mr. Lee is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Waters Lee, and five children; Gaston H. Lee, Eula Lee JonJock, Winton P. Lee, Helen Lee DuPree and Aubrey C. ‘Jack’ Lee, many siblings, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Pine Grove Church. Burial will be in church yard cemetery.
