Actress. Born Elizabeth Florence Walker, her father was an attorney, she was raised by her mother following her parent's divorce. Interested in pursuing a career in entertainment at an early age, she took piano lessons, in addition to studying dance and theater. After studying Journalism in college, she signed on with the John Robert Powers Agency and went on to make a name for herself as a popular model of the 1940s. During this period, she adorned the cover of several magazines. This led to her career in Hollywood which began with a minor role in the Betty Hutton film "Incendiary Blonde" (1945). This was followed with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby picture "The Road to Utopia" (1945). She had further roles from the films "The Kid from Brooklyn" (1946), "The Lady in the Iron Mask" (1952), "Beau James" (1957), "Senior Prom" (1958), "The F.B.I. Story" (1959) and "Jet over the Atlantic" (1959). During the 1960s, she wrote a popular entertainment column called "On the Scene with Selene".
