Actor. Remembered for playing 'Dusty Farlow' in the TV series "Dallas" (1979 to 1985 and 1991). His father was noted cartoonist Charles E. Martin, Jared began acting in school productions during his early teens, in addition to participating in athletics. He enrolled at Columbia University, from where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama. During this period, he roomed with the future director Brian De Palma. Martin made his film debut in De Palma's "Murder a la Mod" (1968), for which was followed with "The Wedding Party" (1969). He would go on to an extensive career in television on such programs as "The Partridge Family", "Dan August", "The Rookies" and "Columbo", prior to playing 'Varian' in the short-lived series "The Fantastic Journey" (1977). In addition, Martin will be remembered for playing 'Harrison Blackwood' in the Science-Fiction TV series "War of the Worlds" (1988 to 1990). He died of complications from pancreatic cancer.
