Professional Hockey Player. For six seasons (1960 to 1961, 1962 to 1966 and 1967 to 1968), he played as a defenseman in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers, Montreal Canadians and Minnesota North Stars. After producing multiple seasons as a steady defenseman with the Fort William Canadiens and Winnipeg Warriors (1957 to 1960), Johns was promoted to the NHL with the New York Rangers during the 1960-1961 season and formed a formidable defensive core with Bill Gadsby and Lou Fontinato. Johns had the distinction of being a part of the Minnesota North Stars roster during their inaugural season of 1967-1968.
