Revolutionary War; Private in Massachusetts Militia under Capt Dunn in Col Phinney's Regiment. He was in the War from 1775 through 1777.
On June 26, 1777 he married Rebecca Stanford and they had 10 children on record.
Ephraim's war service during the Revolutionary War included three enlistments as a Private in 1775,1776 and 1777 for a period of eight months in the former with Captain Samuel Dunn's Company of Colonel Edmund Phinney's Massachusetts "31st Regiment of Foot" Regiment. The Company enlisted on April 24th, 1775 after hearing about the Battle of Lexington and Concord. It was stationed at Cape Elizabeth until July 11th, 1775 and then marched to Cambridge, Massachusetts to join the Regiment which
comprised 36 officers and 513 men. This Regiment took part in the Siege of Boston and was under General Israel Putnam's command until the first of January, 1776, when their time of enlistment expired and the army reorganized--those who did not re-enlist, returned to their homes. Ephraim chose to continue to serve and then re-enlisted for one year with Captain Crocker's Company of Colonel Mitchell's Regiment and finally six months with Captain James Isaac's Company of Colonel Mitchell's Regiment in
1777.
