Robert "Walter" Chandler Jr., 43, died Saturday, August 3, 2002, at the Atlanta Medical Center from the results of a motorcycle accident. He was a warehouse manager for Chandlers Furniture Center in Okolona. He was a member of the Okolona First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Okolona High School and attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State University. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, yard work and spending time with his family and taking care of his cats and his dog "Buddy". He loved hid friends.

Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Faith Outreach Church in Okolona with Bro. Jimmy Bryant, Bro Randy Lewman and Bro. Jim Ray officiating. Burial was in the Oddfellows Cemetery. Lee Memorial/Okolona Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Lisa Harris Chandler, his children, Heather Chandler of Tupelo, Taylor Beard, Ashley and Cole Chandler, all of the home; his parents, Walter Sr., and Bettye Chandler of Okolona; one sister, Carol Drane and her husband, Walton, of Pearl; his mother and father in law Billy H. and Donna Harris; and a brother in law Anthony Harris, all of Okolona.

Pallbearers were Jerry Seaman, Jerry Ryder, Greg Smith, Tommy Miskelly, Neal George, Brain Ramey, Stacy Collins, Kirk Demyan, John Edens and Mike Creason.

Memorials may be made to the Okolona First Baptist Church, 201 West Main Street, Okolona, MS 38860, and to the Faith Outreach Church c/o Bro. Jimmy Bryan, 31312 County Line Road, Okolona, MS 38860.
