Grygla - Russell Franzman, 82, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at the Warroad Care Center in Warroad.

Funeral services were held on Friday, September 16, at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla. Interment was held at St. Olaf?s Cemetery in Grygla.

Russell Charles Franzman, the son of Alfred and Laura (Bucholz) Franzman, was born October 8, 1922 in Grygla. He attended grade school in Grygla and graduated from High School in Goodridge.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving as a sharp shooter.

Russell married Marian Johnson on June 6, 1960, in Thief River Falls. They lived on a farm near Grygla. He was a farmer for the majority of his life. Russell was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla and a member of the American Legion for 45 years.

Russell is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marian of Grygla; two daughters, Lori (Dean Lislegard) Franzman of Roseau and Darlene (Peter) Kozlick of Hanover Park, Ill.; two grandchildren; sisters, Iris Most of Prescott, Wis., and Arlette (Chelsie) Ruud of Gatzke; sister-in-law, Helen Glawe; brother-in-law, James Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Arda Anderson
