Obituary: Jennie Stecher * Jennie A. Stecher, 91, of Dodge died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Parkview Nursing Home in Dodge. She was born Nov. 26, 1913, in Clarkson to Louis and Terezie "Theresa" Kanicky Sup. She attended schools there and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1932. She taught school for 15 years, teaching at Hillyview School south of Dodge, Wilson Junior High in Leigh and other rural schools. She attended Wayne State and Midland Lutheran colleges. She married Jerry Stecher on June 2, 1942, near Pierce. The couple owned and operated Dodge Oil Company where she did bookkeeping, retiring in 2000.

She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Altar Society and was a 50-year member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliaries. She was on a bowling team for 40 years.

Survivors include: a daughter, Connie (Mrs. Joe) Carmody of Ventura, Calif.; two sons, Randy (and wife, Linda) and Curtis (and wife, Becky), all of Dodge; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with the Rev. Dennis DeGuzman officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. American Legion Auxiliary rites followed by a rosary will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday and public wake services will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, both at the church. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Dodge Rescue Squad....
