Thomas Colston Kinney, '89, was born in Virginia in the year 1866, and died in Manila, P. I., about July 1, 1908. He matriculated from Staunton, Va., at the State University in the year 1888, and was a student there for one session. Subsequently, for a number of years, he resided in New York City, where he was engaged in the practice of law, and where he was respected and beloved by a large number of friends. Following the Spanish-American war he went to the Philippine Islands, where he afterward made his home. He lived at Manila, and was a member of the well-known firm of Pilsbury & Sutro, who have offices also in San Francisco. During his career in Manila he represented the largest interests there, and was actively identified with the street railway systems, electric light and power companies, etc., and enjoyed a large practice. Just before going to the Far East he marreid a young lady from Illinois, who with one young son survives him.
