LENGTHY ILLNESS TAKES MRS. EMILY BATES, 73
Mrs. Emily Agnes Bates, 73, of 92 Lake Whatcom boulevard, died at a local hospital early Tuesday evening following an illness of several years' duration. A resident of Bellingham for the past three years, Mrs. Bates leaves to survive four sons, William, Boise, Idaho; Charles, Creston, Montana; Harry, Meadville, Nebraska, and Floyd, Boise, Idaho; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Renouf, Bellingham, and Mrs. Gladys Burrel, Dunsmuir, California; two brothers, Fred Freeman, Butte, Montana, and Edward Freeman, Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Lilly, Butte, Montana, and Mrs. Williams, Lead, South Dakota; nineteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The body rests at the Homer Mark mortuary where funeral announcements will be made later.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Agnes Bates, aged 73 years, who passed away at a local hospital, March 10, after an illness of several years' duration, were held in the Cathedral Chapel of the Home Mark Mortuary this afternoon, March 14, at 4 o'clock, with the Rev. John Robertson Macartney, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating, followed by cremation.
