Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Conley funeral chapel for Mrs. Mary Duncan, pioneer resident of Aut, with Rev. B. A. Eldridge, pastor of the Ault Baptist church, officiating. Mrs. Duncan was born July 12, 1870 at Canton, Mo., where she grew to yourng womanhood. She was united in marriage to John W. Duncan at Canton. To this union six children were born, four of whom survive. Mrs. Duncan, with her husband and family, came to Colorado in 1902 to make their home in Ault where she continued to reside until her death. She was a member of the Ault Baptist church where she had been an active member for thirty-seven years. Her husband preceded her in death three years ago. Survivors include three daughters and one son, Mrs. Lily Southard, of Ault, James Duncan and Mrs. Marie Bowe of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mamie Hayre, of Lathrup, Calif. There are 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Her passing is lamented by a large circle of friends and neighbors. Pall bearers at the funeral service were M. F. Oesterle, Hans Pearson, E. B. White, D. A. Bunch, J. I. Woods, and Ed Weeks. Music was furnished by Mrs. D. B. Venable and Mrs. Arden White. Interment was in Ault cemetery.
