Clarion Democrat - August 28, 1913 - Caroline Koch Brock was born in Toby township, near Rimersburg, on Feb. 3, 1827 and died August 21,1913, aged 86 years 6 months and 17 days. She was the daughter of Rev. Henry Koch, a Reformed preacher of early days and one of note in this community. Her mother's name was Mary Magdalene (Hugus) Koch.

She was married to Peter Switzer on July 9, 1857 and to them were born two children, a son, S.M. Switzer, a farmer of Meadow Brook, Kan., and a daughter Etta, wife of Henry Amsler of near Knox. After the death of Mr. Switzer the married Andrew Brock on August 20, 1866, and to them were born two children, William, a son, at home, and Thomas, a son, in Meadow Brook. She was a faithful member of the Rimersburg M.E. church until death and here was always when she was able, a familiar face at Cherry Run camp meeting.

She was sick but six days although she had not been well for some time. She will be much missed in the community and in the home as she was a Christian who was always faithful to her duty and one whom all would do well to follow. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. c.c. Campbell, pastor of the M.E. church at Sligo, from the late home 011 Saturday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. and interment was made in the Rimersburg cemetery.
