Mr. Huff was born July 2, 1923, in Fort Worth, Texas. His mother, Grayce Harlan Huff, was a homemaker and his father, Clinton Huff, a packing house employee.
By the time of the spring 1940 Census the son was in his junior year of high school. Both parents worked, though the description of their jobs is illegible on the Census form.
Young Mr. Huff enlisted on June 17, 1941, and was a gunnery private on the U.S.S. Arizona when he was killed that Dec. 7.
