Screenwriter. He received recognition as a Hollywood screenwriter in the first half of the 20th century, mainly producing Western films. He was noted for his Columbia Pictures series "Durango Kid", such as a "Last Days of Boot Hill" in 1947 and "Blazing the Pecos Trail" and "Whirlwind Raider" in 1948. His plots were heavy on intrigue and light on hard gallops from the horses. Other of his films were "Ace Drummond" in 1936, "Outlaws on Pine Ridge" and "No Score Yet" in 1942 and "Days of Old Cheyenne" and "Black Hills Express" in 1943, "Sheriff of Sundown" in 1944, and "Rio Grande Raiders" in 1946.
