He was born in Robinson, IL, the son of Fred & Stella Turner Harris. He married Evelyn Croughan October 25, 1938 in Henderson, KY, and she survives.
He worked for National Supply Company for 27 years and then in 1963 he started Harris Supply, Inc. and worked there until his retirement this year.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors besides his wife include a son, Robert Michael Harris; four daughters, Katherine H. Potter, Janet H. Sitarz, Deborah H. Martin, & Martha E. Harris; seven grandchildren; four nieces; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Services were held at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Logan presiding.
Graveside services and burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.
