Services were held Saturday at Carlsbad Cemetery for Harold Ellsworth Bradford Sr., 1905 W. Pierce St. The Rev. Anthony Carson of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ officiated. Masonic services were rendered by Eddy Lodge No. 21, AF&AM.

Mr. Bradford died Friday at Guadalupe Medical Center. He was 91.

Born in Iowa, Mr. Bradford moved to South Dakota when he was 7. He worked on his family farm and went to work for Krauss Mercantile in Parmelee, S.D., in 1926. He later owned and operated a mercantile store.

He retired in 1950 and started ranching with his two sons. Mr. Bradford moved to Carlsbad in 1975.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church, Naja Temple AAONMS of Deadwood, S.D., and PCM, Antelope Lodge No. 209, AF&AM of Mission, S.D.

He is survived by four sons, Harold E. Bradford Jr. of Rapid City, S.D.; George P. Bradford of Gillette, Wyo.; James A. Bradford of Pine Ridge, S.D.; Tom A. Bradford of Carlsbad; a daughter, Alberta Irene Sprinkles of Santa Clara, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

West Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
