Elizabeth "Liz" M. Aasand, age 66, of Grafton, ND, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton, ND.
Elizabeth M. Poole was born February 6, 1942 in Strathcona, MN, the daughter of the late Elmer and Ella (Brew) Poole. She grew up and graduated from High School in Thief River Falls, MN. She was united in marriage to Leslie Aasand on February 21, 1962. The couple made their home in Grafton where Liz worked as a sales clerk at the Grafton Ben Franklin Store. She later worked at North Valley Collection Agency until her retirement.
Liz is survived by her husband, Leslie, of Grafton, ND; five sons: Jerry (Jeanne) Aasand, Devils Lake, ND; Terry (Jennie) Aasand, Mandan, ND; Chip Aasand (Shelley), Oklee, MN; Robert (Gisela) Aasand, Fort Stewart, GA; Jason Aasand (Vickie), Garrison, ND; 11 grandchildren; brothers: Mike (Diane) Poole, Hackensack, MN; Larry (Elerene) Poole, Thief River Falls, MN; Joe (Barb) Poole, Mesa, AZ; Jack (Sharon) Poole, Green Bay, WI; Monroe (Joney) Poole, Thief River Falls, MN; Tony (Alice) Poole, Green Bay, WI; Bill (Patty) Poole, Thief River Falls, MN and Pat Poole, Thief River Falls, MN; sister Muriel Poole, Thief River Falls, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 2:30 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 with a prayer service at 8:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at the North Bigwoods Cemetery (Malm Cemetery), rural Argyle, MN. The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton is in charge of the arrangements.
