Commissioned by Raffaele Bisteghi for the sum of some 12,000 lire, this prestigious monument, located in the Galleria degli Angeli, was designed sculpted by Enrico Barberi in marble. Work started around 1885 and was completed in 1891. The monument features Bisteghi on his deathbed, with an angel floating upon the latter, inviting him towards a new life, and his wife kneeling beside the bed.
