David Lee Coon, 66, of Spring Lake, North Carolina, passed away in his residence on Thursday, March 2, 2017. He was a US Army veteran, and later retired from the US Postal Service. He was an artist and loved playing golf, bowling, and joking around with friends and family, whom he loved. He was Post Adjutant with the VFW, post 2534, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Walbruck) Coon of Spring Lake, NC; son, Lee (Cissy)Coon of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Christine Lamm and her children Jada Coon and Kamryn Lamm of Spring Lake, NC; sisters, Carol (Herman) Arendt of Nekoosa, WI, Diane (John) Sweat of Port Edwards, WI, Lorraine Guelzow of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, sister-in-law Rose Coon of Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lillian Coon and brother, Earl Coon.
Funeral services were conducted at 3:0:30 am.00 pm on March 14, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church, Spring Lake, NC, with burial in the parish cemetery. Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family.
Memorial Services will be conducted at Nekoosa United Church of Christ at 11:00 am, Monday, March 20, 2017, with visitation at 10:30 am.
