Jeanette C. McClain, age 75, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Hobart, IN. She was born on September 11, 1941 and raised in Gary, IN to the late Adam and Mary (Vaclavik) Satanek. She graduated from Tolleston High School and had been a member of the Tolleston Class reunion committee for many years. She worked for Chicago Motor Club for six years, also worked for the Gary Public Library and retired after 40 years of service. After marriage she moved to Portage, IN and has been a resident since. She is survived by her sister, Cecilia (John) Pankowski; four nieces: Debbie (Bobby) Gallup, Kathy (Jerry) Hedrick, Mary (Dave) Rarity, Roberta (Ralph) Bauer; many great nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends. Jeanette was a wonderful aunt, sister and friend to all. She is preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Mary Satanek; uncles: Andrew and John Satanek; aunt Mary Jarcosek; grandparents: Satanek, Lucas (Vaclairk). Jeanette was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, Altar Society, Bonner Senior Center and was V.P. of Be Thankful Club. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, June 30, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland St., Gary, IN) Fr. Andrew J. Corona officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery.
