Troyer.- Sara Jane, daughter of the late Abraham and Katie (Mast) Hershberger, was born near Walnut Creek, Ohio, Sept. 17, 1868; died at the home of her daughter (Mrs. Jacob Weirich), near Union City, Pa., Feb. 18, 1947; aged 78 y. 5 m. 1 d. At an early age she confessed Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and was received into the fellowship of the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church. On March 16, 1890 she was united in marriage to Daniel S. Troyer, who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1933. They lived in Kansas for seventeen years, and later at Clarence Center, N. Y. Surviving are 4 daughters (Ruth-Mrs. Jacob F. Weirich. Union City, Pa.; Erma-Mrs. Elmer Zimmerman, Protection, Kans.; Mrs. Anna Schrock, Hutchinson, Kans.; and Vella-Mrs. Ray F. Elliott, Wichita, Kans.), 5 sons (M. Miles, Elkhart, Ind.; Ralph C., Albany, Oreg.; Oris H. Buffalo, N.Y.; Paul W. Elkhart; and Raymond D., of Clarence Center), 40 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters (Mary-Mrs. William Christner, Streetsborough, Ohio; and Mrs. Malinda Hostetler, Dundee, Ohio), and 3 brothers, (Emmanuel, John H., and William 0., all of Walnut Creek). Infant twins and one daughter (Elsie) preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the home and at the Beaver Dam Mennonite Church, Corry, Pa., Feb. 21. in charge of Elmer Stoltzfus and Jacob W. Birky and at the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church, Feb. 23, in charge of Paul R. Miller. Interment was made in the Walnut Creek Cemetery.
