Miriam M. Miller 85 of Walnut Creek died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her residence. She was born June 2, 1927 in Sugarcreek to the late John H. and Gladys (Lenhart) Stingel. She attended Heidelberg University, Kent State University and the University of Wyoming. She taught school from 1947-1954 at Ragersville and Fresno Schools, was retired Deputy Treasurer of Holmes County, volunteer seamstress at Walnut Hills Retirement Home, volunteer for the German Culture Museum and the former Global Crafts, charter member of the Walnut Creek Fine Arts Club and a member of the Rowdy Readers Book Club at the Walnut Creek Library. Miriam was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ at Walnut Creek and a member of the church choir. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her husband Donald W. Miller whom she married on August 2, 1952, her daughters Jean (Steven) Brown of Beaufort, South Carolina, Joyce (Rod) Brady of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Carol (Joe) Pozuc of Kent and Susan (Keith) Crowell of Lisbon, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her brothers Voris Stingel of Dundee, John Clyde Stingel of Pickerington, Charles Stingel of Warren and her sisters Mary Griggs of Abilene, Texas and Aletha Riedesel of Hoquiam, Washington. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Mitchell A. Miller.

Burial will be in the Church Cemetery in Walnut Creek.
