He was born Nov. 18, 1947, in Dover to Clara (Beachy) Hershberger of Berlin and the late Henry Hershberger.
He was employed at Yoder Lumber for many years, worked part-time at Tax Matters Accounting, was Tax Administrator for the Village of Baltic for 17 years and was a member of Walnut Creek Mennonite Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Malinda Hershberger, whom he married July 6, 1974; children, Mike (Melissa) Hershberger of Walnut Creek, Nick (Ashlie) Hershberger of Sugarcreek, Kristen (Nathan) Porter of London and Dustin Hershberger of Willmore, Ky.; grandchildren, Caedon and Connor Hershberger, Hannah, Gabe and Leah Hershberger; and brothers and sisters, Bert Hershberger of North Canton, Louise Hershberger of Berlin, Helen (Dave) Schlabach of Winesburg, Lonnie (Carla) Hershberger of Sugarcreek, Dave (Marie) Hershberger of Dover, Sally (Joe) Yoder and Rena (Brian) Mullet, both of Berlin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Hershberger.
A celebration of life service will be Sunday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church, with pastor Don Hamsher officiating. Private family burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. at Sharon Mennonite Church in Sugarcreek.
