Norma Jean Chaney Hochstetler, of Sugarcreek passed away on Feb 15, 2012 after enduring a long illness at Walnut Hills Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sep 2, 1937 in Millersburg to the late Walter D and Goldie V (Green) Chaney of Killbuck. She graduated from Killbuck High School in 1955. She was a resident of Sugarcreek most of her life, lovingly giving of herself as a homemaker for her family. Children were always the focus of her heart. Besides her own family, she was most proud of her Nursery Ministry at Sugarcreek Free Methodist Church. On Nov 6, 1955 she married E Jay Hochstetler who survives. They shared 56 years together and he remained her rock until the end. Also Surviving are four children Jaymie Hochstetler of the home, Douglas (Trisha) Hochstetler of Millersburg, Amy (Russell) Daubenspeck of Ashland, Dayna (Michael) Schrock of Walnut Creek and six grandchildren Allison and Luke Hochstetler; Lauren, Hayley, and Tyler Schrock; and James Daubenspeck. She is also survived by three brothers Robert Chaney and James (Bea) Chaney both of Millersburg, and Don (Joyce) Chaney of Reedsburg. Norma Jean was preceded in death by her parents as well as an infant sister.
