Robert James Wentzel, 18, of Celeste died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Celeste with Rev. James Ralson officiating.
The son of herman and Romona Yost Wesntzel, he was born in Greenville on Sept.7, 1981. A senior at Celeste High Scool, he was a member of F.F.A and Beta Clubs and also umpired and coached. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his parents of Celeste, a sister Michelle Wentzel of Celeste, grandparents Jim and Norma Butler of Florida and Robert and Lois Douglas of Pennsylvania and aunts and uncles.
Robert and Pat Douglas of Pennsylvania. Bruce and Mary Wentzel of Michigan and Heidi and Dennis Peterson of Oklahoma.
Pallbearers are Aaon Lamm, Michael Mayrell, Sterling Argyle, Jeromy Evans, Josh Cook and John Bullock.
Memorials may be made to the Celeste School Library Fund, P.O. Box 67, Celeste, 75423.
Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Services set for Celeste student killed in Accident

Celeset-Services are scheduled this afternoon for a Celeste High School student killed as he was riding a four-wheeler near the city Saturday evening.
A memorial account has been set up for the family of Robert Wentzel, 18.
Funeral services are set for 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Celeste under the direction of Peters Funeral Home.
Wentzel, a senior of Celeste High School, was also a member of the F.F.A. and the Beta Club at school and umpired and coached sporting events.
Contributions may be made to the Robert Wentzel memorial Fund at the First Bank of Celeste, P.O. Box 7, Celeste, 75423. Memorials are also requested for the School Library Fund, at P.O. Box 67 in Celeste.
Wentzel died as he road the four wheeler at approximately 5:40 p.m. Saturday. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) indicated Wentzel had been traveling south of Farm Road 3427 when he turned right unto County Road 1035 about 9 miles north of Greenville.
Wentzel was reported to have lost control of the vehicle, which then hit a tree.
Wentzel was transported to Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville where he was pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m. Saturday.
