R. E. Sammons, known to his family simply as "Grumpy", was born on May 25, 1941 to H. E. and Lou Irene (Lipscomb) Sammons. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. R. E. left this world on October 8, 2007 surrounded by his loving family.
