Bennie was really my uncle by marriage, but he and my Aunt Evelyn took me at just a few weeks old and brought me to their home and raised me as one of their own. I always called them Mama and Daddy, and few people knew different. He worked as an electrician, and I never knew him to raise his voice. Daddy was a Golden Glove in his earlier years. Bennie was the son of Will King & Clara King of Rocky Mount, NC. preceded in death by wife Evelyn Morgan King . He leaves three daughters; Elizabeth, Jeannette and Caroline, and a son, David. Brother of Mittie Carroll, Vannie King and Fannie King .
