My Dad.

Husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather

Arie Leonard Williams was born in the Buffington community of Cherokee County, Georgia. He was the fifth of ten children.
Family and friends called him "AL" or Leonard.

At the age of 17, he lied about his age and joined the military. He became a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps on January 7, 1942.

After honorably serving his country, he ran several businesses. He owned a "Pure" gasoline station in Woodstock, Georgia, that sat on the corner of Highway 5 and Highway 92. (A Burger King restaurant is now at that location.) It was while working at the Pure station that he met my mother. They were married two weeks later.

Following that, he ran his own restaurant for a while, working with his wife and two oldest children.

He finally settled on a career as an electrician, running his own contracting company for over 30 years. All of his sons learned the business, three of them going on to run their own electrical contracting companies.

He retired in the early 90s.

He is very much loved and missed by his family.

"Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son."
