Robert Davis Blinn, born August 21, 1921, passed away at home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Friday, May 14, 2004, after an eight year battle with Parkinson's Disease. A lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, he was the son of the former Oklahoma City Mayor and long time Judge C.J. Blinn and Margaret Davis Blinn. He married Susanne Wells May 15, 1943. They celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2003. He attended college at Oklahoma City University, Westminster College and the University of Oklahoma where he graduated in 1942 with a degree in Economics. He then attended Harvard Business School. During World War II, he served as an officer on the supply ship, USS Yukon. After the war, Blinn worked ten years for the Veteran's Administration. He went to night law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate. He taught Wills and Trusts at OCU night law school while still at the VA. He joined Liberty National Bank and spent 26 years there, becoming a Senior Vice President and co-head of the Trust Department. He was President of the Trust Division of the Oklahoma Bankers Association, was a member of the State Bar where he served as Chairman of the Code Procedure-Probate Committee, was a member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association, was a member of the American Bankers Association where he was a Representative for the State of Oklahoma on the Trust Division of the American Bankers Association Legislative Committee.
