OBITUARY - Mrs. Ester Dobbs Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery for Mrs. Ester Pauline Dobbs, 91, Topeka, who died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1990, at a Topeka retirement home. Mrs. Dobbs was a teacher during World War II in Clinton, Okla and Albuquerque, N.M. She was born July 8, 1898, in Guthrie, Okla, the daughter of Edwin Franklin and Benjaline Insley Shreffler. She attended school in Guthrie and graduated from Oklahoma Methodist University. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Woman's Society at the church, the Flora Culture Garden Club, John Haupt Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Kansas State Historical Society. She was a 50-year member of Guthrie Chapter No. 12 of Order of Eastern Star in Oklahoma. She was married to John V. Dobbs Dec. 28, 1920 in Guthrie. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Brock, Riveside, Calif, a son, John V. Dobbs Jr. Riverside, Calif, five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a great great grandson. Memorial services will be at the Topeka Presbyterian Manor. Time has not been set. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 650 W. 168th, New York, NY 10032. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
