Duane F. Richter, age 80, died on Sunday, October 28, 2012. He was the eldest son of Mark and Elva (Olmsted) Richter, born in Manitowoc, WI on March 23, 1932. He grew up in Clintonville, Rosendale and Oshkosh. Duane entered the U.S.A.F. in March 1951. On May 25, 1979 he married Theresa Steinike in Oshkosh. Duane retired from the U.S.A.F. in 1973 after more than 22 years of service. He was a member of Ray H. Fullers Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17, of Oshkosh. Duane worked for 7-Up Bottling Co., Lennox Candle Co., and the U.S. Postal Service. After total retirement in 1994 he enjoyed gardening, preserving of produce, woodworking and helping his neighbors with odd jobs.

Duane is survived by his wife of 33 years, Theresa: son, Scott Richter; and daughter, Paula Richter. He is further survived by his first wife, two daughters, a son, and their families; and numerous family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons; and four brothers: Kermit, Reid, Dennis and Arlyn.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Lakeview Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the cemetery chapel on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment with military honors will follow
