Funeral services for Mrs. Elling Jorgenson, 80, were held Monday at 2 pm from the Alma Lutheran church with Rev. EW Oscarson officiating. Mrs. Jorgenson, a resident of Marshall county since the early 1880's, died Thursday in Warren hospital where she had been a patient for seven weeks. Honorary pallbearers were Oscar Haugen, Narve Hunstad, Carl Grim, Grim, Elmer Welin and Arthur Hogberg. Active bearers were Willard Johnson, Harold Bjorgaard, Milford Westberg and Ronald Jorgenson. Songs were sung by Mrs. Birger Andeen, Mrs. Selmer Anderson and Mrs. Narve Hunstad with Mrs. Lowell Hogberg as organist. Internment was made in the Alma Lutheran church cemetery. Mary Gunderson was born in Cokato on December 23, 1878, to Mr. and Mrs. Hans Gunderson, coming to a homestead north of Alvarado in Vega township with her parents while a young child, making the trip by covered wagon. She was united in marriage on Nov. 25, 1899, to Elling Jorgenson in Grand Forks. Baptized in the Lutheran faith, Mrs. Jorgenson was an active member of the Alma Lutheran church until recent years when her health failed. Following their marriage they farmed in Foldahl township, later moving to Warrenton township near Luna where they farmed for 6 years. They then moved to Alma township and later moved back to Foldahl township, where they farmed for the last 22 years. Survivors include her husband, Elling; seven daughters, Mrs. Mabel Johnson and Mrs. Wilbert (Grace) Westberg of Warren, Mrs. Oscar (Ethel) Bjorgaard of Argyle, Mrs. Frank (Alice) Hoppa of Gladstone, Mich., Mrs. Herb (Myrtle) Wagner of Mentor, Mrs. Hilary (Esther) Wysocki of Roseau and Mrs. Rose Peterson of Goodlesville, Tenn.; three sons, Raymond of Warren, Elmer of Menasha, Wis. and Clarence of Newfolden; two brothers, Henry Gunderson of Baudette and William Gunderson of Viking; a sister, Mrs. Albert (Emma) Kagg of Vikingg; 40 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren.
