Son of George A. and Evelyn Allen Jensen. He attended Bingham High School and participated in the sporting programs and on March 20, 1942 he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Shirley Anderson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They shared a wonderful and full life together for 62 years. During World War II, Gordon served in the U. S. Navy in the Aleutian Island in Adak, Alaska. Gordon was employed at Kennecott Copper Mine for 43 years in the electrical department and later as an Electrical Foreman. He was a member of the Bingham Canyon Volunteer Fire Department until he moved to Midvale in 1953. Gordon was an avid scouter and served as a scoutmaster in Copperton, Bingham and Midvale. At one of Gordon's Court of Honor in Midvale, 19 Eagles Awards were presented. Gordon was awarded the Silver Beaver award in 1965. As an active member of the LDS Church, he served in three bishoprics and on the stake high council. Gordon often uttered the quote, "I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul." He truly had done what few of us accomplish. Gordon was, to the end, a self disciplined man. He loved and served all whom he came into contact.(Source: Obituary)
