Agnes Gray Crawford Novotny
July 29, 1904-November 12, 1995.
Agnes Novotny is survived by one sister, Sarah Foster, a daughter, Nancy N. Atkinson, and a son, Raymond J. Novotny II. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Agnes and her husband of sixty-four years, Ray, who preceded her death in May of this year, had resided in the Welches area for the past thirty-five years.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, to Samuel Crawford and Mary Ann McCrory, she became a naturalized citizen of the United States on January 5, 1945.
Devoted to and beloved by her friends, Agnes found time to do volunteer work for the Red Cross and the Portland Women's Army, Navy and Air Force League where she served as president during the Vietnamese War. She was a founder and active member of Hoodland Women's Club.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on December 16th at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Gresham following the 10 A.M. interment at Willamette National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Agnes' name to the American Cancer Society.
