Gardner Morton "Bud" Keyt
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and colleague, Gardner Morton "Bud" Keyt, 89, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his home in Meridian, Idaho.
He was born on September 27, 1923 in Glendale, California to Tom Grubbs Keyt and Hazel Mae Freeman-Keyt. The family moved several times during Bud's youth and resided in Glendale, Santa Barbara, and Pasadena, California. He graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1942.
After high school he attended Service Representative Apprentice School for National Cash Register, then joined the Navy in 1942 and served for 4 years during World War II, earning the rank of AOM (T) 2c (aviation ordinance, turret specialist 2nd class). He was discharged in 1946 at the naval discharge center in Long Beach, California.

Following military service Bud returned to National Cash Register where he worked for 47 years in service and management capacities until retiring in 1989.
Bud married Joanne Stromwell in 1946 in Glendale, California. They were married for 21 years until Joanne's death in 1967. In February 1969, Bud married Esther McBride (Robbins) in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Bud was an active member of the Elks, Civitan, Optimist, and Good Sam's clubs and the Presbyterian Church and held multiple positions within each. He cherished his family; enjoyed automobiles, airplanes, the outdoors, traveling, RVing, gardening, and working crossword puzzles.
He volunteered at the Boise VA Medical Center until the age of 88 and received numerous awards and accolades for his service.
Bud is survived by his wife, Esther; his sister, Barbara Fox; daughter, Denise Chambers; sons, David Keyt, Kevin Keyt and Tom Keyt; stepdaughters, Jackie Schack and Nellie Anacabe; stepson, Dan Robbins; grandchildren, Doug Chambers, Noell Bautista, Holly Keyt-Son, Eleni Keyt, Carina Keyt, Gabriel Keyt, Dylan Keyt, John Schack, Jake Schack and Nik Anacabe; great-grandchildren, Emily Chambers, Alex Chambers, Libby Bautista, Hylee Bautista, Nolan Schack, Marley Schack and Mickey Schack.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 6500 W. Overland Rd Boise, Idaho 83709.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to either the Boise VA Medical Center, Attention: Voluntary Services 500 W. Fort Street Boise, Idaho 83702 or to Southminster Presbyterian Church, 6500 W. Overland Rd Boise, Idaho 83709.
