Palmer Crider, age 60 of West Van Lear, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at Pikeville Medical Center. Born March 8, 2013 in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Johnny and Irene Crider. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Crider, Joe F. Crider and Billy Lou Crider. He is survived by is wife, Linda Gamble Crider; three brothers, Astor (Brenda) Crider of Prestonsburg, Jimmie Crider of Charleston, WV, and John Jr. (Liz) Crider of Prestonsburg; two sisters, Peggy (Bob) King of Chicago, Ill. and Sidney (Ed) Prisela of Merritt Island, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12:00PM Thursday, February 14, 2013 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Holbrook Family Cemetery on Davis Branch. Friends may visit the funeral home from 6-10PM Wednesday and until the time of service on Thursday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Paintsville. Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 14, 12 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Palmer Crider, 60, of West Van Lear, who passed away Monday, Feb. 11 at Pikeville Medical Center.
Mr. Crider was born March 8, 1952 in Floyd County, son of the late Johnny and Irene Crider. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Crider, Joe F. Crider and Billy Lou Crider.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Gamble Crider of West Van Lear; three brothers, Astor (Brenda) Crider of Prestonsburg, Jimmie Crider of Charleston, W. Va., and John (Liz) Crider Jr. of Prestonsburg; two sisters, Peggy (Bob) King of Chicago, Ill. and Sidney (Ed) Prisela of Merritt Island, Fla.
The service was officiated by Robert Varney, with burial in the Holbrook Family Cemetery on Davis Branch.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.
