Heaven welcomed another angel home this morning. Ruth "Granny" Hunt died peacefully this morning at her home in Wills Point, Texas. Granny was 96 and was a very sweet and lovely lady. A Christian lady who was an encouragement to all.
Funeral services for Ruth Katherine Hunt, 96, of Wills Point are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Dick Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at College Mound Cemetery in Terrell. She passed away Monday morning, March 4, 2013, in Wills Point.
Ruth was born May 12, 1916, in Terrell, Texas, the daughter of John Luther Rickman and Bessie Jack Turner Rickman. She was raised in Terrell, where she attended public school. She later married Buford Reese Hunt. Ruth was a sales clerk for McCrory's in Terrell, retiring in 1980. After retirement, she moved from Terrell to Wills Point. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and collecting dolls. She donated to the Life Line, which was very important to her and she was involved with the Red Cross. Ruth was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Terrell and a current member of the Old Fashion Baptist Church in Able Springs.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buford Reese Hunt; daughter, Oleta Hunt Boon and a son, Kenneth Hunt.
Ruth is survived by a son, Ronnie Hunt & wife, Karen, of Wills Point; two daughters, Bessie Sitzes & husband, Clifton, of Terrell and Lela Clemmons, of Terrell; brother, John Luther Rickman & wife, Gladys, of Terrell; fourteen grandchildren, Rickie Boon, Mickey Boon, Linda Southam, Ronald Sitzes, Tonia Edwards, Denise Everett, Shannon Marble, Donna Dodson, John David Weathers, Cindy Pickens, Darla Gables, Terry Weathers, Misty Rapollo and Reese Hunt; thirteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Rickie Boon, Mickey Boon, Ronald Sitzes, Reese Hunt, John Weathers and Terry Weathers.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
