Delbert Burchett, 62, died Thursday, November 3 in Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Burchett was born November 12, 1925 in Floyd County, the son of Oscar and Julie Daniels Burchett. He was retired from the Johnson County School Board after 14 years of service and a retired miner. Surviving are his wife, Louise Castle Burchett; seven sons, Lloyd and Gilbert, both of Falcon, Gary, Robert and William, all of Stambaugh, Larry of Ulysses, and Lionell of Lowmansville; one daughter, Shirley Burchett Tevis, of Lexington; and 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 6 in Locust Grove United Baptist Church, with John G. Pelphrey, J. D. Rice and Buel Ferguson officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery at Stambaugh, with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, November 9, 1988
